Immigration & relocation

Moving to Bonaire.
We'll do the queuing.

Sedula, CRIB number, bank account, insurance and a roof over your head — the whole arrival list, handled by people who know the path. Tell us where you are and we will send you a plan and a quote.

Nobody moves to Bonaire for the paperwork

It is not hard, either. It is just long, largely in Dutch, and it has to happen in a fixed order. No address, no sedula; no sedula, no bank account; no CRIB number, no salary and no car. That order is exactly where people lose weeks.

The arrival list
  • We do this for you
  • Only you can do this — we prepare it and come along
  1. Before you fly

Most of what goes wrong goes wrong here — papers you can only get at home.

    • Work out whether, and how, you may settle — We do this for you

Dutch passport holders are admitted by right; for every other nationality the route depends on your situation. We find out which one is yours — before you book tickets.

    • Get your documents apostilled — Only you can do this — we prepare it and come along

Birth certificate, plus marriage or divorce papers if they apply. Far harder to arrange once you have left.

    • Line up somewhere to land — We do this for you

You need an address before almost anything else. We arrange the first few weeks.

    • Shortlist neighbourhoods and view remotely — We do this for you

We filter the market against your budget and must-haves, and walk the viewings on video with you.

  2. Your first week

Everything here runs in a fixed order. Skip a step and it costs you weeks.

    • Register at Publieke Zaken — your sedula — Only you can do this — we prepare it and come along

The island ID card. You have to appear in person; we book the appointment, check your folder and come with you.

    • Address registration — We do this for you

This is the key that unlocks the rest. We make sure it is right first time.

    • Apply for your CRIB number — We do this for you

Your tax number — needed for a bank account, an employer and a car.

    • Open a bank account — Only you can do this — we prepare it and come along

We book the appointment and assemble the paperwork; the signing is yours.

  3. Your first month

The things you only notice the moment you need them.

    • Health cover — We do this for you

Through ZVK if you are insured locally, private if not. Do not leave a gap here.

    • Home, contents and car insurance — We do this for you

Hurricane cover included — not an afterthought on Bonaire.

    • Water, power and internet in your name — We do this for you

      Connections and transfers, handled.

    • Convert your driving licence — We do this for you

Usually a conversion rather than a fresh test. We check whether you qualify.

  4. Settling in

    From temporary to home.

    • Your own place — buy or long lease — We do this for you

The broker who walked you through the move is the broker who buys your house. One file, one point of contact.

    • Bring a car, or buy one here — We do this for you

Import duties and clearance, or a sound local purchase.

    • Schools and childcare — We do this for you

Which school suits which language and age, and when you have to enrol.

    • Clear your shipping container — We do this for you

Customs paperwork, appointments and the collection itself.

Tell us where you are

The more we know, the more concrete our answer. You'll get a plan and a quote within two working days — from a person, not an autoresponder.

What should we take off your hands?

Pick as many as you like — you can change your mind later.

Where we stop

We are not lawyers, notaries or tax advisers. Where you need one, we will say so — and introduce you to someone on the island who is allowed to do it.
